The One Ring:

Made by Sauron in c. 1600 of the Second Age at Oroduin. The One Ring was made as the ruling ring to rule other Rings of Power that were forged by Celebrimor. The One Ring look like a Lesser Ring, for it is simply a band of Gold. Sauron put his power into the Ring. He wielded it until 3441 of the Second Age when the Last Alliance made a siege against Barad-Dur, and defeated Sauron. The Numenorean known as Isildur, the son of Elendil, took the One Ring as his.

Isildur lost the Ring, as well as his life, in the River Anduin when he and his three sons were ambushed by Orcs in the Gladden Fields in 2 of the Third Age.

About 2463 of the Third Age, Deagol of the Stoors finds the One Ring. He is murdered by Smeagol of the Stoors, and Smeagol takes the One Ring. The Stoors shun him, is called Gollum, and is banished. Gollum wandered to the Misty Mountains.

In 2941 the hobbit Bilbo finds the Ring in Gollums Cave. He takes it to the Shire. He gives the One Ring to his nephew Frodo in 3001. Frodo is told to take the Ring to Mordor and destroy it, with the help of a fellowship, in Rivendell in 3018. In 3019 the Ring is Destroyed, and Sauron falls.

The One Ring can be found in The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings
