The Shire:

The Shire is in Eriador and is slightly north in it. The Shire was founded by Periannath, or hobbits, who were granted the land by King Argeleb II in 1601. The Shires boundaries are the Brandywine River at the East, Lake Evendim in the North, and the River Lhun in the West. The Shire is split into four sections called Marches. Some hobbits live across the Brandywine River from the Shire in a place called Buckland. The Shire can be described as a green and hilly countryside.
